Candlestick Chart

A form of financial chart which is made up of four major prices: high, low, open, close.

The body (“jittai”) of the candlestick bar is formed by the opening and closing prices of a particular currency or financial instrument

if the opening price was lower than the closing, the body of the bar is left blank. If the instrument closes below its opening, the body is filled.

The remainder of the candlestick bar’s range is marked by two “shadows”: the upper shadow (uwakage) and lower shadow (shitakage).
