Right-Hand Side (RHS)

The ask/offer side of a two-way price quote. Buying "on the right" means buying at the ask price.

Definition

Right-hand side (RHS) refers to the ask or offer price in a two-way forex quote. In the standard quote "bid/ask," the ask is on the right. When you buy at the ask price, you're "paying the right" or "dealing on the right-hand side."

How It Works

  • Quote: 1.1000/1.1005
  • 1.1000 = left-hand side (bid)
  • 1.1005 = right-hand side (ask) = price to buy
  • "Yours!" in dealing = buying at ask
