QUESTIONS

Trading Apps FAQ

Straight answers before you download anything

What is a crypto trading app?

A crypto trading app lets you buy and sell on-chain assets from your phone. The best ones combine exchange-style execution with wallet-style self-custody, so you trade without depositing funds onto an exchange first.

Are trading apps safe?

Self-custodial apps are safer than exchanges in one specific way: the company never holds your funds, so there is nothing to freeze or steal from their servers. The trade-off is full responsibility: lose your recovery phrase and nobody can restore it. Custodial apps reverse that deal.

What fees do trading apps charge?

Most charge either a flat fee per trade, like $1 regardless of size, or a percentage spread around 1%. Flat fees reward larger trades. Percentage fees look small until you run the math on a $5,000 order.

Can beginners use trading apps?

Yes, and that is who the good ones are built for: Apple Pay deposits, no seed-phrase setup screens, no bridge juggling. Start with small amounts while you learn how on-chain settlement differs from an exchange balance.

How does TradeTheDay rate trading apps?

We score supported chains, fee transparency, custody model, mobile execution quality and verified App Store ratings from hands-on testing. An app cannot buy its score: the numbers decide, and the verdict names who should skip it.
